About the Lebanese Republic
Lebanon is located in the Middle East. It is bounded by the Mediterranean Sea on the west, with a coastline of 225 kilometers. Lebanon is bordered by Syria to the north and east, and by Israel to the south. The Syrian-Lebanese border runs for 375 kilometers, and the Lebanese-Israel border – for 79 kilometers. With an area of 10452 square kilometers, Lebanon is the 161st-largest country in the world. A major part of Lebanon is covered by mountains, excluding the Beqaa Valley in the northeast and a narrow coastal plain stretching from north to south along the coastline. Inshore Lebanon is separated from the eastern regions by the Lebanon and Anti-Lebanon mountain ranges. Population of Lebanon is estimated to be 4,468,007. Its capital is Beirut, population 1,251,739, major cities: Tripoli, population 229,398, Saida, population 163,554 and Tyre, population 135,204.

- To extend and develop business contacts and mutually beneficial cooperation between Russian and Lebanese entrepreneurs;
- To promote Russian business in Lebanese markets and attract Lebanese investments to Russia;
- To elevate the role of interested representatives of Russian business community in formulation and execution of Russian-Lebanese commercial relation state policies;
- To combine efforts and organize constructive dialogue of business circles of Russia and Lebanon, interested in progressive development and improvement of efficiency of Russian-Lebanese business cooperation;
- To defend rights and interests of Russian entrepreneurs in their relationships with Russian and Lebanese state and commercial entities; Business Council’s Lebanese partner is the Lebanon-based Lebanese-Russian Business Council (LRBC), uniting Lebanese organizations and companies, interested in developing business cooperation with Russia.
